Marcie Paper is an artist and designer splitting their time between Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley. They received an MFA in painting from the University of Massachusetts in 2006 and have spent the subsequent years making abstract paintings that investigate the nature and content of short-term memory. Most recently they’ve expanded their studio practice to include bespoke wall murals, weaving, hand-painted ceramic tiles, textile design and block-printing. All of their visual material and patterns originate from the abstractions of short-term memories.
